This article provides a comprehensive introduction to the high-pressure die casting (HPDC) process and its application in manufacturing lightweight aluminum components. It first explains the position of HPDC among various casting methods, and then describes the equipment structure, mold filling behavior, and the role of injection speed and pressure, as well as their effects on defects such as porosity, cracking, and misruns. The composition of commonly used aluminum alloys and the influence of different alloying elements on the final properties are also examined. Using charts and experimental data, the relationship between process parameters and the mechanical performance of the final part is analyzed. Finally, the article emphasizes the importance of optimizing mold design and process control to achieve high quality and reduce production costs.
